BDD: How did you start helping people with their social skills, anxieties, public speaking?
I have an undergraduate degree in speech, and completed the White Plains Hospital phobia therapy training program .
BDD: What’s unique about your method?
It really works! Gradual exposure, in manageable steps, tailored to the individual’s needs makes for remarkable progress.
BDD: How would your course help newly single people who want to be more confident, more social?
The public speaking course helps develop poise and presentation skills. The social anxiety workshop focuses on initiating and sustaining meaningful conversation. Our acting class stimulates creativity while shedding inhibition.
BDD: Where do our problems/issues in this area come from?
The causes are legion. The remedy is simple. Commit to improving, with a consistent effort in manageable steps, and don’t quit till you attain your goals.
BDD: Can you help anyone no matter what the circumstances are?
It would be presumptuous to claim to be able to help anyone under any circumstances. However, we have been extremely successful helping people, from all walks of life, surmount their fear and accomplish things they never dreamed possible. We even prepared a young man to appear on the Tonight Show within seven sessions.
BDD: Do you ever turn anyone down at any point of training?
I cannot think of an instance where we turned someone away that needed our help.
BDD: Could you give us an example of a success story?
I believe our most impressive statistic is that every panic stricken person who sought our help in preparing for a best man/maid of honor speech, was able to get through it successfully. That is a 100% success rate, in that area, in 21 years of service .
BDD: How much time does it take to see the results?
Dramatic results and perception shifts are possible within several sessions, provided there is a committed and consistent effort.
BDD: What’s the usual mix in your groups? Gender, age, profession?
Our clients are generally young professionals interested in advancement in their chosen field, and enhancing their social facility. There is a broad spectrum of investment bankers, attorneys, media and marketing professionals, as well as social workers, teachers and entrepreneurs. And there is a palpable international feel, given the diversity of nationalities represented at each meeting.
