BDD: What does it take to be matchmaker?
Hard work, empathy and a genuine dedication to helping a client.
BDD: How can I tell if I need a matchmaker?
I recommend hiring a matchmaker if you’ve tried everything else and you’re still single.
BDD: How do you help your clients, what’s unique about your approach?
In the case of my clients, they have no problem meeting plenty of people on a daily basis, for them I am more of a screener who weed’s through the quantity in order to deliver appropriate matches, which in turn saves them a lot of time. And I what I feel makes me unique is my creative approach to finding exactly the right match for my clients. In other words, I’m determined and unstoppable to find the right match for my client.
BDD: How would you convince a skeptic to reach out to a matchmaker?
Some people say they believe in serendipity when it comes to finding love and I say, a matchmaker can be your path to your serendipitous match.
BDD: Can you give us an example of a success story?
My very first client was painfully shy and yes, he was still a virgin at 35. First I took him shopping and gave him a complete make-over, which immediately helped his confidence. Then I began setting him up with appropriate matches and I would plan the entire date to ensure they were going to do something interactive, fun and memorable, in order to help kick start the chemistry. The fourth girl I set him up with, turned out to be “the one”.
BDD: Would you ever turn anyone down? Why? Why not?
Oh YES! And I do. If I meet someone who I feel has unrealistic expectations or is super specific and narrow minded about a potential mate, I won’t work with that person. I’m not interested in taking someone’s money if I don’t think I can help them and if you believe in strict limitations, it makes finding love, much harder.
BDD: What is the most common trouble with which people come to you?
Most of the time, the people I deal with are those who are very busy, who work a lot and don’t like to go to bars. Also, the number one thing that people need and want, is a quality person and that requires a screening process and they just don’t have the time to that themselves.
BDD: What’s the most valuable piece of advice you can give that applies to all?
Be open minded, friendly, easy going and SMILE. Good energy goes along way!
BDD: What is the number one mistake that you people make looking for their match?
They are just too narrow minded. You can’t say: “love should look just like this or be 10 miles from me.” That’s ridiculous.
BDD: What’s your take on online dating?
I think it’s great! I think anything that allows people to meet other people, whom they might not have ever met or crossed paths with otherwise, is a wonderful thing! The more people you meet, the better your chances are, of finding love.
