Need Help Writing Your Dating Profile?

Most people, when they log onto a new dating site, go completely blank. They can’t think of a thing to write. Do you need help writing your dating profile? Not to worry because I’m here to help. Here are a few tips for getting more out of your profile so that you go from online dating to offline dating in record time.

Your Headline: Besides your photo, this is often the first thing potential matches will see before they click on your profile. To get more clicks through to your profile, you need to create a headline that gets attention and causes potential mates to stop on a dime.

Most people choose incredibly boring headlines when writing their online dating profile. These include:

  • Just Trying This Site Out
  • Hopeful Woman Looking For Man
  • Where Are The Real Men?
  • Single Man Looking For Hot Woman

Come on, people. Think outside of the box. What if you instead chose headlines like?

  • Oh No, My Reality Show Has Been Canceled!
  • Knock Knock
  • New Profile – Careful Of The Wet Paint

You get the idea. Be different, get your potential dates to pay attention and you’ll get much better results with the headlines you choose.

Photos: Besides your headline, your photo is the most often seen element of your profile. If you have a low-quality photo or, worse, you choose not to upload a photo at all, your online dating efforts are going to fall flat. Consider having some professional photos taken to maximize your chances of finding a perfect match.

Your Description: This is the hardest part of the entire profile for most people. Where do you start? Why not get someone else to help write your dating profile? This could be someone that looks up to you, a good friend or a relative. Have this person describe you to someone else and write down what they say. Oftentimes, we have to step outside of ourselves to write a decent profile description and that’s incredibly difficult to do for most people. If you have someone help you, someone who loves, supports and believes in you, you’ll have a much easier time completing your profile description and you’ll get more clicks to your profile and more messages as a result.

Your Ideal Match: This part of your profile is where you are supposed to describe your perfect online dating match. Don’t be too specific here. For example, you may not want to say anything about hair color, eye color, height, income or anything else specific like that, as you may alienate a good percentage of your online dating pool of matches. Instead, list some attributes that you’d like the other person to have but leave it vague. You may think you know who your ideal match is but, as it often happens, you might be surprised who you fall for. Keep things vague and you’ll have much better results.

Keep these tips in mind and, before you know it, your profile will be complete and your inbox will be full. And you thought you needed help writing your dating profile. Turns out you just needed a little nudging in the right direction. Now get out there and start online dating. You never know who you’re going to meet.
