BDD: Tell us a few words about your blog? How did you start?
I started my blog in complete ignorance. Many friends had suggested that I write about my dating experience(s) and I’d heard that blogging was the new big thing. But I really had no idea what I was getting into. 
BDD: What is the number one tip you have for newly single people in New York City?
My number one tip = smile, be friendly and fearless. OK, maybe that’s more than one tip. Honestly, I don’t think there’s any mystery to it. Be open and unafraid. Try everything and anything.
BDD: What’s your favorite way to meet new people?
I’m a big fan of online dating. I think it’s a great way to open up your dating pool. And I’ve met a lot of amazing people online. Smart, attractive, successful men.
BDD: What’s your take on online dating?
Like I just said, I’m a fan. But I also think it can be tedious and time consuming if you let it.
BDD: Do you have your favorite places for the first date?
Yes. I have a few bars and wine bars that I frequent.
BDD: What are NYC men like?
That’s like asking, “what is wine like?” Lots of variety. Something for everyone. Of course, there are some generalities that do seem to be true. For example, many NYC men are spoiled by the wealth of smart, beautiful women in the city and don’t always value the women in their lives.
BDD: There lots of dating guides, books, coaches out there, what’s your take? Any recommendations?
I’m not a big fan of advice books. And I’m positively mystified by the multi-billion dollar industry that has sprung up around dating.
BDD: What was the most unusual, extraordinary, unexpected first time encounter you ever had in NYC?
Years ago a man asked me out for a first date and suggested we take a walk in Central Park. I arrived to find he had a picnic basket with a lovely lunch, wine, proper glasses and blanket… the whole nine yards. And then when we were done with lunch we climbed a tree. Amazing date!
